Still, Samantha couldn’t contain herself and kept looking around the flat. And the more steps she took into the desolate space, the more she realized that no one could be living in it. The apartment was completely empty, except for some furniture. Also, there were no signs that anyone was there or had been there recently.
Samantha further told Curbed: “I’m not sure if it was being renovated or if it was empty. It’s really old, and no one has been there for a while. Also, the shower area was made entirely of pipes. no bath or toilet in sight. The floor, and what I think used to be the kitchen, has been completely demolished.”

Hartsoe soon found out that it was not her neighbor’s apartment. As she was looking for an exit, she ended up in another hallway in the apartment building. From there it was quite a journey to get back to her own home.
Once she was back home, she finished her TikTok video. “Made it out alive. My landlord can expect a funny phone call tomorrow.” She is also convinced that she will not go on an adventure again. She’s even going to fix the mirror with cement, so no one can sneak a peek anymore.
Although Hartsoe’s videos caused a lot of excitement, the adventurer is relieved. She tells Curbed: “The nights after that I felt better than ever before.” Remember, she wasn’t in the bathroom just to put on her makeup!

What’s for sure is that her adventure was extremely popular on TikTok. More than a million viewers have liked her video and she has gained a lot of new fans. One fan thought she was very brave and complimented her for her guts. Still, it wasn’t just the positive that predominated.
