A scream shattered the silence—a sharp, chilling sound that ricocheted off the well’s stone walls. It was James. His cry pierced the air, raw with pain and fear. Tina’s heart seemed to stop. She could almost feel the cold, damp air rising from the depths, carrying his scream straight to her.

“James!” she called out, her voice shaking. “Are you okay?”

Only silence answered, thick and suffocating. The well seemed to swallow her words, leaving her trapped in a dreadful stillness, haunted by the echo of his scream.

Helplessness washed over her as her mind spiraled into worst-case scenarios.

In a panic, James’s hands trembled as he fumbled for his phone, desperate to switch on the flashlight. The darkness pressed in all around him, thick and suffocating. With a click, a narrow beam of light cut through the blackness, revealing the shadowy depths of the well.

His eyes widened in fear as the light swept over the hidden corners of the abyss. Suddenly, the strange noises he’d heard before became clearer—the faint scuttling and whispered movements echoing off the stone walls.

Heart pounding, James directed the flashlight toward the eerie sounds, his breath catching in his throat.

The beam of light revealed dozens of tiny, glowing eyes reflecting back at James. Strange, shadowy creatures writhed in the darkness, their movements quick and unsettling. He struggled to catch his breath, the sudden realization sinking in—he wasn’t alone down here. The eerie glow of those eyes sent a chill racing down his spine.

Then a thought struck him.

“Tina, you’ve got to see this!” James’s voice echoed up from the depths, a mix of shock and unease.

Tina stepped closer, her heart pounding with a strange blend of relief and apprehension. Peering into the darkness illuminated by James’s flashlight, she spotted movement—small shapes darting about, eerily resembling the fragile creature the wolves had brought to the school.

A cold wave of realization washed over Tina, sending a shiver down her spine—they were not alone. The wolf that had stormed the school, stirring chaos and fear, was connected to a far deeper mystery hidden beneath the earth in this forgotten well.

As James’s flashlight flickered over the writhing shapes below, he called up to her, voice trembling, “Are these the same creatures, Tina?”

“Yes,” she replied quietly. “The pack… maybe they led us here on purpose.”

James’s words echoed off the damp stone walls, heavy with meaning. “It looks like they wanted us to find these trapped creatures.”

Peering into the darkness illuminated by the wavering light, Tina felt a chill run straight down her spine.
